Model-based engineering of Digital Twins for early verification and validation of Industrial Systems

What is Matisse?

MATISSE is a European HORIZON-KDT-JU research project bringing together over 30 partners from 7 countries to develop an advanced framework for efficient engineering and validation of industrial systems using Digital Twins (DTs).

By integrating DTs with model-based, data-driven, and cloud technologies, MATISSE aims to simulate, test, and predict system behaviours, enhancing both productivity and quality. This innovative approach helps companies optimise their industrial processes, reduce errors, and boost productivity, ultimately simplifying complex operations like machinery production and factory management.

With €5.9 million in funding and a diverse international consortium, MATISSE is driving forward the next generation of industrial efficiency and innovation.

Our Mission

The mission of MATISSE is to create a model-based framework that enables the efficient and continuous development of federated DTs through shared aggregation mechanisms.

By offering DT-based services for verification, prediction, and monitoring, MATISSE aims to enhance the engineering, validation, and federation of DTs.

Our goal is to drive productivity and quality improvements, ultimately transforming industrial systems into more efficient, resilient, and innovative operations.

Our Objectives

Cloud framework to automate the engineering and integration of DTs using model-based engineering.

Strategy for continuous validation of DTs, ensuring they meet functional and non-functional requirements throughout their lifecycle.

DT services for prediction, verification, simulation, and monitoring across various industrial systems.

Our Strength

MATISSE's strengths lie in its unique collaboration across 7 national clusters, ensuring diverse expertise and regional representation.

The project benefits from high industrial participation, featuring 7 different use cases that address real-world challenges faced by the industry.

Our consortium includes top-notch researchers in software engineering, working alongside leading European enterprises such as Siemens and Alstom.
